03:38 pm - on doing nothing...
Basically haven't done anything today. This sucks. I need to get out of the house. I spent most of yesterday sleeping off the Nyquil. Took a single dose last night just in case, and now I'm feeling pretty ok. I'm obviously not 100% well, but I'm at the point where I don't want to be doing nothing anymore. Bleah, I really need to find some more interesting way to spend my days.

Borders: all you have to do is sit there and sip soothign tea, but it gives you a reason to bathe and makes you feel like you did something. Plus, read the magazines for free. Score.

Oooh, good idea. I was going to suggest the library, but this adds the beverage dimension that the library lacks. Plus you can keep your cell phone on. Whenever I suggest the library, I kind of laugh, because my students complain there is nothing to do during the summer and I know the evil looks I'd get for suggesting "read a book"...

I'm morally obligated to say "go to the library" because I'm a librarian. :-) But when you're sick, tea is nice.

Kinda like I have to say "read a book" because I'm an English teacher. I'm making all my kids get library cards next fall. And then I'm going to show them how to use the durn liberry.

That's great!
My advice to incoming freshmen is always "Learn how to use the library immediatly". If you're lucky, you can save money on books by checking them out, in lots of cases, you need to figure out how to get reserved readings (it took me like over a year to figure that out in college), and you can get away from your roomates.

I can only imagine getting kids to use the library while younger will help them use it later. Also, the librarian is your friend! She or he is paid to help you! Ask lots of questions!

Plus there is free - that's right, free! - internet access at our public libraries. Shoot, free books, how can you not learn?
