New House
Originally uploaded by chrismaverick.
beststephi and I put a bid in on this house, and it was accepted. So on Saturday we go in with the home inspector so that he can tell us if its going to sink into a mine or something below it. Actually, I'm not really worried about sunken mines. If anything, I'd worry about the fact that the house us surrounded on two sides by a cemetary. Actually, there are lots of cemetaries in this area, including one right across the street from where I currently live. So the question is, did the cemetary builders actually leave spaces for houses or are we built on top of old graves? The current owners have a cross hanging on like every room in the house. I wonder if there's a reason for that. I'm going to have to make sure Steph doesn't get sucked into the television. Anyway, new place has a pool, we're talking about putting in a hot tub. Aloha Jam should be awesome. Who's afraid of a little poltergeist anyway?

And the theme from Ghostbusters is currently on my playlist...fitting!

Oh, how cute! Congrats and good luck with the inspection!

It will be even better once we de-Santa-fy it. Actually, its entirely possible they've taken all the Santas down by now. I bet there are still a whole lot of crosses though. To ward off the evil poltergeists, no doubt.

Well, it's an above ground pool --- there's obviously a reason for that. Don't go digging in the backyard!

Well, if I remember correctly, in the movie the pool was actually dug into the ground. Maybe that was the problem.

Neat! Is this on the South Side too?

more or less. Technically, its in Carrick, but to someone who doesn't live on Mt. Oliver, you'd never know the difference. Its about a mile from Mike's house. You can easily walk it.

I think there may be a virgin mary in there somewhere too... *shrug* they'll probably take them all with them anyway... unless of course they decide we're godless heathens, then maybe they'll bolt them to the wall.

If it helps, I can hook you up with some crosses and the like blessed by the pope. We've got a crucifix he blessed that worked very well whenever the poltergeist in the washing machine in our old place would try to escape. :)

we'll see how it goes... any unholy spirits that might be inhabitting the place were there before me, and I don't want to be that bastard new kid who just comes in and immediately starts bullying (undead) people around.

Congrats, guys. Hope the inspection goes well, and you don't have a leaky basement or something.
