You know the drill, comment here if you want me to ask you five questions. Then answer them in your own blog and ask people to do the same.

Questions asked of me by lizardking625:
1) What was your favorite match to photograph from ringside?
Chris Daniels vs. AJ Styles. It yielded one of the best action photos I have ever taken.

2) What has been your favorite match of yours?
vs. Marshall Gambino at an IWC open house. I just really enjoyed that match.

3) Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Lucky Charms?
Cinnamon Toast Crunch, easily. True MavFact. I can't drink milk, so I don't really eat cold cereal. But I've always loved snacking on Cinnamon Toast Crunch right out of the box.

4) When did you realize "Hey, I'm an internet icon!"?
Sometime in 1993, I think. Before blogging, and really before there was even a web in any useful sense, I became kinda popular on CMU bboards, and that spread out a bit to comic book oriented USENET groups and then to the web.

5) Do you realize you're the reason I'll never wear a t-shirt hell shirt to an IWC show ever again?
And keep it that way!

So who wants an interview?

I would like to be interviewed but Id like all the quesitons to be about ECW and comic books.
[User Picture]From: chrismaverick Date: June 15th, 2006 - 02:41 pm (Link)
tricky... ok...

1) How would you have booked the new ECW to make it better?
2) What was the best ECW gimmick/angle ever? What about worst?
3) Plot a mega-crossover for either Marvel or DC (or both).
4) What's the best and worst comic book character/story ever.
5) What character from comics do you think would be cool to crossover into ECW and vice versa.
[User Picture]From: akiramich Date: June 15th, 2006 - 02:59 pm (Link)
1. I would not have done the shows in the same arena as Smackdown. I would have sent a small TV crew to the house shows to shoot different matches. Also I would do ten minutes of "Pulp Fiction" and let all the guys get time to get themselves over.

Oh and I would have done an angle where Paul E. went heel. Have him bring back Brock Lesnar as the new ECW Champ, with the idea that bringing the company back was a swerve to get back with Brock. Then you have a top heel to send the other workers against. And that would have drawn back a lot of fans.

2. The best angle was the Raven/Sandman feud where Raven corrupted the Sandman's son. That was brilliant. Worst angle was anything that happened in the last six months, when the company just died from boredom.

3. I wasnt a big fan of the company crossovers that happened all the time in the 90's. Lost any idea of being something special. IF I was going to do something of a neat story, Id do it along the lines of the Legion of Super Heroes having a battle with Galactus, and having to call up the Fantastic Four to help avert the destruction of mankind.

If it was 1997, I would have done the Invisibles meeting Doctor Strange, but you cant really do that now...

4. The best comic book characters are the Fantastic Four. Just a perfectly realized group, borrowing off some other characters, but working well as a unit, and introducing a bunch of cool concepts. The worst were any number of add on characters to the X-Men after Rachel Summers was introduced. Does anyone even remember these add on guys? They sure didnt last.

5. Wrestlers in comics dont work. But if I was doing something, Id introduce the "Heroes for Hire", where you have a tough muscleman and a martial arts expert, and they would be brought in by whatever babyface was in the most peril. Except there are no babyfaces and nobody ever is "in peril" anymore.

Sorry...logged in under the wrong name :-)

1) If you could make (or change) 3 laws, what would they be?
A. Get rid of a lot of sentencing laws (truth in sentencing, 3 strikes, etc)
B. Change Megan's Law to decrease loopholes and make it more effective
C. In general, change many WCC (White Collar Crime) laws because they are completely ineffective and have little to no punishment
D. (OK I picked 4) Get rid of the death penalty

2) What's the best thing about Ben? What's the worst?
Best: He's an all-around great guy.
Worst: He's rarely serious.

3) What's the one thing that you really want to do some day that you haven't yet?
Travel around the world (I have a list of countries and cities I want to visit before I die).

4) What do you think you'd be like as a boy?
I think I'd be taken more seriously and seen as more of a threat.

5) What's the nicest thing you've ever done? What about the naughtiest?
Nicest: I don't know...I do a lot of nice things, most of which tend to go unrecognized but it's okay.
Naughtiest: I don't know? Streaking...I suppose.

[User Picture]From: marsinthestars Date: June 19th, 2006 - 06:06 pm (Link)

I don't feel like posting in my journal.

1)What one thing would you really like to change about yourself? What do you love about yourself?

I would like to make my shins stronger so that I could run much much farther. I love being able to make people laugh. I’m generally good at it.

2) What do you think you'd be like as a boy?

Gay. Seriously? I’d probably be a big dork, because I’m into all the lame kinds of music. But I’m into sports and building stuff, so I might not have been beat up on too much in school. And I’m sure I’d be a big stud at my 10th year reunion.

3) If there were a novel with you as the main character, how would it begin? How would it end?

I used to write those, and they usually ended in suicide – not because I had a death wish of any sort, but merely because it seemed like a great way to end a novel. But all of my novels sort of have me as the main character, and the one I’m beginning now begins with

“There is a beauty in solitude. It’s the same beauty one finds in a single snowflake. My solitude was a world of snowflakes – a solitude as white as snow. My jacket was red as blood. The edges of my fingernails were black as ebony. And if fifteen was too old to be reading fairy tales on the way home from school, then maybe I was only fourteen that winter.”

In reality, were I to write a novel based on my life as it stands right now, I would begin it the day I turned 10 and broke down in tears at a beautiful restaurant in Niagara Falls because of 1. the realization that I would never again by in single digits and might not live to reach double digits, and 2. the fear that I would now have to become responsible for other people. I would follow my life through the years of being responsible for several other people to my current state of finally, finally, not being responsible for
anyone but myself, but being at the point in my life where I am expected to consider taking on such responsibilities again.
Or else I’d start it when I began running, and end it with the Olympics.

4) Where do you stand on the FCC's current censorship drive. What would you do if you were in charge?

Can you elaborate? I know little to nothing of this, so I looked up the FCC website where it started to ring a bell, but still… I’ve been a little out of it, as far as keeping up with the news for the last 20 years.

5) the final question is in 10 parts and adapted from the questionnaire originally generated by the great Bernard Pivot.:
What is your favorite word? cinnamon – it sounds like it tastes
What is your least favorite word? Like – it’s both overused and understated
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Rent, apparently. Generally speaking, certain types of music, emotional responses to music, hearing and seeing things that are completely in their essence truth.
What turns you off? smoking
What is your favorite curse word? Jesus Fuck
What sound or noise do you love? Laughter – real laughter, waves on a beach, perfect silence interrupted by wind through trees
What sound or noise do you hate? Metal on metal, Velcro pulling up, electronic feedback
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Heh – what profession? I want to teach music, edit children’s fiction, write, act, and sing for a living. Which is my profession?
What profession would you not like to do? I would not want to be a doctor. I’m just no good with blood.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? We made a mistake. I’m going to put you and everyone you care about back on Earth..

Re: I don't feel like posting in my journal.

4) Basically, congress just approved legislation saying that the FCC could raise their fines tenfold. (from $35K to $350K per infraction). Since FCC fines are at their discretion and without an appeals process, this effectively, this means that any non-major local station (radio or tv) can be put out of business by the FCC simply deciding that they don't like them. The FCC has basically decided that they don't like anything blatantly sexual and have pressed harsh fines because of it. Key in point, the Janet Jackson incident, Howard Stern. On the other hand, people that they do like have been essentially given free passes without incident. Key in point, Oprah Winfrey happened to have a show where she was talking about "deviant sex" the same morning that Howard Stern talked to the guy in the the Paris Hilton sex tape. Howard was essentially fined off the air in several markets for saying "did she ever put her tongue in the area of your rear end that is generally considered an exit." Oprah on the other hand talked about group sex, described various types of oral sex in detail and talked about "tossing salads" in much more detail than Howard did.

The FCC officially responded that they were fining Howard and not Oprah as Oprah deserves more leway since she is "beloved."

5) Good answering of the Pivot questionairre. I am impressed.
