05:33 pm - what I want to be when I grow up...
Ok, so I have a lot of careers I've been interested in at one point or another. Writer, artist, programmer, sys admin, designer, pro-wrestler. Really, I love them all. But I think perhaps its time for me to grow up and stop doing what I want to do and instead concentrate on what the world needs me to do. Namely, open a national shipping company that actually cares about providing decent service so that people can have an alternative to the Utter Piece of Shit shipping company that everyone uses now.

*sigh*

You can use the profits to fund your own wrestling organization.

And ship your art.

wow... maybe there would be profits. I wasn't even thinking of that. I just thought that maybe it was a way I could serve my fellow man...

Though you may be serviing your fellow man, there is no reason not to ask the very important question of, "Dude, what's in it for me?"

can there be a greater reward than the smiles on the faces of the children?

ok... yeah, cash... cash would be pretty cool...

It was amazing...today UPS delivered my Amazon package to the right address on the first try...i wonder if it's because of all the hell i gave them on the phone due to their recent fuckups.

It was the free shipping deal, which I wouldn't have used if I could have determined that it would mean UPS. But I only placed the order tuesday(!) and here it is!

But UPS still sucks. In the future I might just avoid the free shipping until such time as Amazon switches to your new national shipping company (i trust you will hire drivers who can read?)

so, ultimately, UPS did deliver everything today that they were supposed to. It just took them forever, and they hadn't actually done a departure scan for two of my packages (one delivered to Pgh and one delivered to Las Vegas) so they didn't know where they were. It was a miracle that either actually made it to the destination.

I only used UPS because I used Super Saver. Super Saver seems to be "whatever shipping we decide to use." Usually that's the US Mail... or at least it used to be all the time, and frankly, I've been pretty fucking impressed with the US Mail (I got a package from them today as well in a completely timely and professional manner). UPS on the other hand routinely fucks up everything I want them to do, and then tries to cover it up when I complain about it by lying. At least when the USPS fucks up they admit it. Bleah

I could have avoided UPS on this last order, but it would have cost me $20 to do so, on a $47 order. I strongly considered it.

Not that I've ever had a problem with UPS, but there's always Fedex Ground.

God, NO. See my post about that.

yeah, but I haven't had problems with them yet... really, like I said, I'm pretty happy with the USPS most days. Sadly, they frequently aren't a requestable option....

Look, every company is going to have problems sometimes. There's ultimately nothing that can be done about that.

well, like I was telling Max, I didn't actually use it on purpose. It just happens that way...

Hell no. That just means they leave a hangar on your door saying you have to go to their facility in the 'hood and pick up your package, because like all shipping companies, FedEx refuses to deliver when people are actually home. Then when you go, they can't find the package and tell you to come back the next day. You subsequently spend 3-6 hours on the phone tracking the package down until you talk to some manager in Nebraska who finds your package in 30 seconds. But you still have to go back to the 'hood and wait in line to pick it up.

ooh... yeah, and my official deliver hours will be between 6pm and midnight... and Saturday and Sunday mornings... kick ass!
