The highly addictive interview meme...

As lifted from yannaboo. I will probably post again once sui66iy also sends me questions... Anyway, this is me:

First the rules:

If you want me to interview you--post a comment that simply says, "Interview me." I'll respond with questions for you to take back to your own journal and answer as a post. Of course, they'll be different for each person since this is an interview and not a general survey. At the bottom of your post, after answering the Interviewer's questions, you ask if anyone wants to be interviewed. So it becomes your turn-- in the comments, you ask them any questions you have for them to take back to their journals and answer. And so it becomes the circle.

And now the quesitons and answers:

1. What is the secret (or secrets) of looking good?
<DIAMONDDAVE>Charasma, Baby! CHARASMA!!!</DIAMONDDAVE>

The secrets are:

  • Have confidence - This goes a long way. No one will believe if you don't believe
  • Find your best feature and accentuate it - If you have nice breasts wear lowcut or tight tops, if you have pretty eyes, wear a color that brings them out. if you have a firm tummy, wear bare midriffs. This goes for boys too. I wear clothes that tend to show off my arms and my butt.
  • Call attention to yourself - in order to turn heads you have to, well, turn heads. You need to be memorable. If you wear subdued earthtones and frumpy sweaters all the time you're going to blend into the background. If you want people to come away with an impression give them something they are sure to remember.
  • Never be afraid to let them see your underwear - Molly Shannon claimed that this was the best advice she ever got and it came from Gilda Radner. I think the reasoning is self explanatory.

2. You are currently looking for a job, right? In your ideal job (not just a lot of slacking off), what would you be doing?
<CHRISTOPHERTRACY>I do nothing for a living. I only do things for fun.</CHRISTOPHERTRACY>

This is a hard question because to me the only real difference between a job and slacking off is whether or not I am having fun. I mean, I don't really like sitting around doing nothing whether I am getting paid for it or not. And I'd rather be paid for anything I do, whether fun or not, than not be paid. So those things are all out of the equation. So it just becomes a question of what I like to do with my life, and the answer to that is: anything creative. The problem is that I'm kind of flighty, so sometimes I want to be a writer. Sometimes I want to be an artist. Professional wrestler, bartender, ninja. Things that just let me express myself by being who I am.

Failing that, I also want to drive the big rigs.

3. You're an artist, and you make those cool portraits and stuff. How did you first get into art, and where do you want to go with it?
<BADU>Now keep in mind that I'm an artist. That means I'm sensitive about my shit.</BADU>

Oh, that's easy. I was 7 years old, and I was going to fly from Cleveland to Houston (by myself) to visit my dad, so my mom bought me some comics to read on the flight. By the time I landed, I wanted to draw them. Later I ended up being enamored with Roy Lichtenstein, and then Patrick Nagel and then Monet and then Mukai and then Da Vinci and then Janesko and then Royo and well... I dunno, I just kind of got hooked.

I don't really know where I want it to take me. Just wherever. I don't really want to be a comic book artist anymore. I'm much more into writing. But I really like being a portrait artist. I guess it may not be as deep or unique as some other stuff... but it fits me well.

4. People, it seems you're friends with all of them. Do you have an outlook on being nice to people and making lots of friends, or does it just seem to happen?
<COTY>There are no mothers anymore. Only Fathers and Friends.</COTY>

I really only know like 3 people. The rest is all just a clever trick I do with mirrors. Actually, I guess the secret is just that I'm friendly. I'm nice. Part of it goes back to question 1, but applying it to my whole lifestyle instead of just the way I look. I try to be confident. I try to play up the good points of my personality. I try to be outgoing. I walk around in my underwear. But also I just try to be a good friend. My honest. I try to be helpful and a good listener. And I try to be fun to be around. Its not all just about making friends though. The thing is the one person who has to be around me most often is me, so I try to be a person that I like being around and that I can deal with so that I don't drive myself crazy. If other people end up liking me, then that's icing.

5. Why do you have a livejournal?
<KASS>If I ever become a scandalous famous person, I'm going to start a diary, and write two hours of mindless drivel every evening, more if I can find the time, and force Congress to sift through it all.</KASS>

Originally, I started so that I could comment in the journals of nowishere and wooble. Of course now I post more than the two of them combined. For one thing its just so that I'm doing at least a little bit of writing, regardless of how impertinent, on a daily basis. This has two purposes. Giving me a record to look back on when I'm wondering something like "just how did I feel when I lost my job at MAYA." and keeping me in the practice of writing so that I theoretically eventually produce some good stuff... You know, an infinite number of monkeys randomly typing at an infinite number of typewriters throughout infinity will eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare and all that.

There you go. I hope that answers your questions, Yanna. Ok, so who's next?
